It’s been nearly six months since Hurricane Odile slammed into Los Cabos devastating the area with a Category 3-strength vengeance. #Unstoppable, could not be further from the truth when it came to communities near and far banding together to pick up the pieces and get our town moving again.
To date, the Cabo Inn Hotel can say we are operating with the same number, if not higher occupancy to rival that of February 2014 – people LOVE Cabo! New airline routes, both domestic and international, are surely helping to get guest back to Cabo sooner, which is a huge relief to many of the businesses that rely on tourism to support their families.
The local economy depends so heavily upon this tourism, that recovery of the hotels and tourism infrastructure is and has been a crucial key for the overall economic livelihood of Los Cabos in general. A high percentage of locals work, either directly or indirectly, in the tourism industry and although, it has been uplifting to see all these efforts and determination to recover and rise again, there are many areas away from the hustle and bustle, which still require much help in its recovery efforts, especially in the poorer barrios that suffered extensive damage.
The Cabo Inn Hotel families are well and continue to help in the efforts of making our city whole again.
